Network Scanning Setup

Workstation Configuration 

1. From the software CD, Install Scanner File Utility on workstation

2. Set Firewall Software to allow the program full access  (For Windows Firewall:  Start, Control Panel, Security Center, Windows Firewall, Exceptions Tab, Add Program Button, Scanner File Utility, OK)

3. Run application (Start, Programs, Scanner User Software, Scanner File Utility)

4. Scanner Icon will appear in the taskbar.  Right click, and then click Configuration

5. Click Setup, New, Fill out Form and click OK. (No. is a three digit number that will be used to determine which folder the copier sends the scans to during destination setup.  The default for the first folder on a host is 001.  You can set up as many destinations, each with a different destination number, on the host as you need.)

6. Click OK

7. Right click icon in taskbar again, then click start (This will activate program on the network)

User & Destination Configuration

The easiest way to set scan configurations is to use the scanner’s internal website.

1. Open a web browser (i.e.: Internet Explorer)

2. In the address bar, enter the IP Address or Host Name of the scanner

3. Click on Sender List (if 503 Access Not Allowed appears, make sure copier is not in management or scan modes)

4. Set up a Default or Test Sender on 001

5. The Save Number must correspond to the file No. set up in workstation setup

6. Click Registration

Errors:

Unable to Scan

No network connection or improperly configured connection

Unable to find host / Destination unreachable / etc.

Make sure that:

• Scanner File Utility is running on host computer.

• Scanner File Utility is started on host computer.

• The host computer’s firewall is not blocking Incoming connections to Scanner File Utility.

• The IP address of the host computer is correct in the address book of the scanner.

• The permissions on the destination folder include SYSTEM with full access.
